The Eddie Report has received accolades from across the globe. Selected for its second straight year as the recipient of the 2011 American Inhouse Design award, the Eddie Report continues to be recognized both nationally and internationally for its topic selection and superb writing. As an award winning quarterly publication, the Eddie Report remains steadfast in the objective set forth in its mission statement: In an easy-to-read and user-friendly format, the Eddie Report strives to present parents, teachers, childcare providers and clinicians with relevant and edifying information and promotes dialogue centered on cutting edge topics and issues that impact on the development and early education of young children. Appealing to the academic and laymen alike, the Eddie Report has won over readers with its relevant and thought provoking articles written by experts in the field of early childhood education. Its attractive illustrations designed by its professionally recognized staff can only assist in making its read an absolute pleasure.
With the advent of the Individual Disabilities Education Act, better known as IDEA, most recently amended in 2004, recognition of special needs for the birth to five populations has permitted greater advocacy for children with disabilities. Realizing the need to relate the availability of these services to the general public as well as informing them of its recent developments, our publishing and editorial staff of educators in the field created a publication that would accomplish this. Spending an inordinate amount of time reading and reviewing many professional journals, it occurred to us that a publication that integrated and shared information in a concise and easy to read format would be a welcome addition to childcare providers everywhere. It is too often that we are met with the academic journals written for the scholarly and esoteric readership, nearly indecipherable to the laymen. In the area of early childhood, parents and other providers need to be well informed to the many hurdles they will undeniably face. This is where we come in and this is why we bring you the Eddie Report, a publication written with parents, caregivers and professionals in mind.
